Inspire – High potential and gifted education

Some students learn faster and more easily than others. These students may shine in creativity, thinking, leadership or sport.

Our school partners with other schools to deliver teaching and learning experiences and opportunities for all students to develop their potential in all domains: creative, intellectual, physical and social-emotional.

At our school, our staff have embraced HPGE through a shared lens for recognising potential in students with complex needs.

Inspire - NSW CER Stories

Each and every day NSW Centre for Effective Reading hears stories of inspiration from students supported across rural and remote NSW primary schools.

THREE MATES. ONE MASSIVE RIDE

We couldn’t be prouder of our inspirational student Banjo, who is about to embark on an incredible 1,200 km journey across the Nullarbor with two mates — all to raise money in the fight against kids’ cancer.

This is no small feat. It’s a test of endurance, resilience, and heart — and Banjo and his friends are taking it on with courage and determination that truly inspires us all.

We’re in awe of what they’re setting out to achieve and wish them every success (and safe travels!) on this unforgettable ride.

Go well, Banjo — we’ll be cheering you on every kilometre of the way. April-May 2026

What is high potential and gifted education?

Inspire – High potential and gifted education (HPGE) is how schools support students with advanced learning needs.

This can be done through:

effective teaching strategies like enrichment, extension and acceleration

tailored support during lessons that stretch, challenge and inspire

access to a wide range of opportunities both within and beyond the student's school.

Our reading programs are developed considering each student's interests, strengths and challenges. We work with the partner school to consider this in the individualised programs.
