Evidence Based Practice

Evidence based practice is that which is based on research evidence of effectiveness. A number of organisations provide information to assist teachers to make informed decisions about the teaching programs and practices they adopt.

Evidence based practice guides for a number of areas of education can be found in the Special Education section of the Center on Instruction at: Evidence-based Practice

Five from Five is an initiative of the Centre for Independent Studies that aims to improve literacy levels by ensuring all children receive effective, evidence based reading instruction.

Research-based principles of instruction are outlined in Principles of Instruction (Rosenshine, 2012) found at: Principles of Instruction

Macquarie University Special Education Centre (MUSEC) provides briefings on a range of practices and programs. These may be found at: MUSEC Briefings
